Meet Lindsay

meet_lj.png

For nearly twenty years I have been dedicated to making a difference in people's lives through my community service, work as a production engineer, and my work as attorney.

I am deeply committed to supporting our community. My husband and I moved to the Pacific Northwest 14 years ago when my spouse started a career at Boeing. We’ve chosen to raise our three children here and it’s now my home. I have two students in Renton School District with my third joining soon in kindergarten.

I believe strongly in the value of public education. Every child should have access to high quality education that broadens their mind, prepares them for their chosen career, and empowers them as future community members in our democracy. Every child deserves the chance to succeed, and my goal is to ensure they have access to the opportunities they need to thrive.

Growing up in rural Wisconsin I experienced first-hand the benefits of a public education to expand my world and prepare me for my future career goals. I started my career working as a chemical engineer and went back to school to become a lawyer. Every child should have access to high quality education that broadens their mind, prepares them for their chosen career, and empowers them as future community members in our democracy.

I have dedicated the past seven years to supporting our students in various capacities. First, at my children's elementary school, where I actively participate in classroom activities, school events, and fundraising efforts. This hands-on experience allows me to understand the needs and challenges faced by both students and educators.

Recognizing the importance of a collaborative approach, I joined the elementary school PTSA Board. In this role, I collaborated closely with other parents and school staff to develop initiatives that enhance the educational experience for all students. We organized community events, advocated for necessary resources, and implemented programs that fostered a positive school environment.

My commitment to education extended to the Renton Council PTA Board, where I serve as a representative for our local schools. This position enables me to engage with a broader community, addressing district-wide issues and advocating for policies that support student achievement and well-being. Through all of my roles, I have seen firsthand the impact of parent and community involvement in ensuring the educational success of our children.

We are in uncertain times and face unprecedented challenges. I believe we should and can meet these challenges without sacrificing our community values. By working together, we can create a supportive and resilient environment for our children to thrive. I am a proud product of public schools and a parent of Renton School District students.

I would be honored for your vote and support in this campaign for Renton School Board.
